Had a great experience at Saigon Shack. The staff was really nice, the food was really good, and the atmosphere was great too. We had the Thai iced tea and the Saigon pho, and both hit the spot. Definitely a solid place to come back to.

NOT AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE FOOD. FAKE VIET RESTAURANT. The deep fried spring rolls were terrible. The texture was gummy and the filling tasted like old frozen food. The shrimp rolls had the smallest shrimp and hard vermicelli noodles. The “Pho”was SO BLAND, made for non-vietnamese people. The broth didn’t even taste correct. it tasted like watered-down beef water. The vermicelli noodle bowl with grilled pork was terrible. They used LOW QUALITY noodles and pork. the pork was tough and hard to chew. The sauce was so bland, I could barely taste the fish sauce. I asked the server for extra fish sauce (plain fish sauce so that i could mix it in their bland sauce…) and the server said that THEY DON’T HAVE FISH SAUCE. What kind of “vietnamese” restaurant doesn’t have fish sauce??? This is such a FAKE vietnamese restaurant made for non-vietnamese people. SHAME on “saigon” shack. more like american shack. Literally don’t even try vietnamese restaurant in NYC. Buy a ticket to Vietnam or California.

Me and boyfriend love Saigon Shack! It’s always busy, but we are always are sat without too long of a wait. We got the Saigon Shack pho, which has a delicious, hearty beef soup with a Thai Ice Tea and Cucumber Juice. The drinks are not too sweet while being refreshing! The atmosphere is cozy and the servers are attentive and fast. Would recommend anyone to stop by for some delicious Vietnamese food, as a Vietnamese person Saigon Shack is amazing. I also recommend the brisket Banh Mi and the Brisket pho! But anything on the menu will be delicious!

I’ve been coming here for years and I’m glad they’re still around. Decent vegetarian options. I had the vegetarian pho, the rice bowl, vermicelli bowl, and bahn mi. The bahn mi is a good size you can the entire thing if you’re really hungry. Get the bowl either vermicelli or rice. Has more veggies in it than the bahn mi. The vegetarian pho was good. All of these come with soy protein. I’ve gone different times. During the week it can get busy especially during colder months. If it’s just you and one other person your wait won’t be as long. More than 3 is a wait. Cash only. I’ve taken other people here. This last time I sat at the bar. Other times outside when it was really busy. For the amount of food, it’s average price. Staff just depends. It’s a casual spot. One of the better Vietnamese spots I go to in the city. Fast service, decent food.

Came here for the first time and had a pork chop banh mi which was normal, the bread wasn’t that crunchy. Had sweet potatoes fries with mayo sauce and it was good. Had fried springs rolls and they were ok. Overall the food was nice but not the best Vietnamese food Ive ever had. I could come here back to try other dishes. Good service and normal atmosphere. Note: They dont accept card and this is a downsize for the customers.
